My cat has an upper resp. infection. I went to the vet. this morning
and picked up some amoxycillin for him. He's been having a runny nose
and sneezing for a few days. Otherwise, appetite is good and he has no
trouble eating. The thing is, quite frequently he'll gag for some
reason. Has anybody else had this happen? Joann

Yes, when I have a really bad, snotty cold. Snot is snot, so it likely
happens to cats too. Hell, they can't really blow their noses, so they
have to swallow the stuff.

Could be expectoration rather than gagging - especially with a URI.  Cats
often expectorate and regurgitate to clear saliva and fur from their
throats.  He's probably clearing a little mucus from the URI, too.

One of mine does this from time to time and she's not had an RTI since I
collected her from the rescue home. It's not frequent and she shows no other
symptoms. She's a compulsive licker, so I've put it down to furballs.
