Hi,

A few of my friends and I have been working on a petition to hopefully
make routine vaccinations a little safer for our cats and dogs.  My
friends and I have lost cats to Vaccine Related Cancer.  We are not
anti-vaccination, but Pro-Education.  We feel that all pet owners
deserve the right to know the risks and benefits of vaccinations so we
can make educated decisions in caring for our pets.

You can access the petition from here:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/shortionline/petition/petition.htm

or go directly to the petition site itself:
http://www.petitiononline.com/petvax23/petition.html

If you agree with this petition, please sign it and share it with
everyone you know!  Hopefully together we can make some changes.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

thanks for your time and help!
Gigi

While I admire what you're doing, I fear that the veterianarian associations
will make sure something like that never happens as they make a lot of money
from vaccines.  I think it's extremely important though for people to get
educated on the dangers of vaccines and to find out what is best for their pet.
Relying on vets and the pharmaceutical industry to educate people hasn't been
too successful, IMO.

"We also strongly believe that a "veterinary vaccine injury act" should be
enacted. This fund would help compensate families who have suffered negative
consequences of any vaccination mandated by law, as well as help fund
development of safer vaccines and vaccine technology, such as: "

Unfortunately, I don't believe this would ever happen.  Look at how hard it is
for humans to get compensated.  I don't think it's possible for animals.

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for your input.  Well, I do agree with you that any changes
will be difficult, but I feel that we have to try.  I'm hoping that if
we get enough signatures we can at least get our voices heard by some,
even if its a few newspaper articles.

take care,
Gigi

I want to wish you the best of luck.  I will sign the petition too.  Will you
let me know how things turn out?

you sent me a picture of them when they were little. They are in my
shorti's photo album!  (www.shorti-online.org) Small world, its been
quite a while!

Gigi

Hi Gigi!  So good to "see" you!  I didn't connect that it was Shorti's website.
It's hard to believe that Mickey and Meesha are almost 5 years old already.
Seems like just yesterday I sent you their kitten pictures.

I signed the petition and was happy to see how many signatures there are
already :)

Take care,
Lauren

I have been slow, but I promise I will sign it soon.

These folks have been working hard on education about VAS for quite
some time.  They are quite educated about it, and I hope everyone here
will sign the petition as well.

Gigi, tell Barbara "Hi", and I will be signing shortly!

Hi Ginger-lyn!!

Thanks for your note and for the kind words.  I wrote to Barbara and
told her you said hi!  I know that her BC is very proud of all that
she has been doing.

We're so excited about the response we've had so far with the
petition... its been up for 3 weeks and we have over 3,000 signatures!

take care and thanks again!!

Gigi,

I signed the petition -- forgot to add "in honor of BC" in the notes
section, but at least I got it signed!

Love to you and  Barbara, and thanks for doing all the work you do on
this important issue.
