keeps a very close eye on you when you clean the litterbox? My friends who have cats think I'm nuts but my cat is always right under me when I'm scooping the litter. One of ours sometimes acts as though whenever you decide to clean the litterbox is the worst possible moment and she can't wait a minute longer. Once she used the old litter I had just dumped into a garbage bag. And trust me, there is normally nothing wrong with her bladder control. Just something about seeing me start to clean out a litterbox inspires her, I guess--and of course, it would never occur to her to use a different box at that moment (we have three in different locations). > Some like to get in there while you're cleaning it and use it. She would always supervise, and promptly baptise the first litterbox I cleaned. I would, but I confine the little bastard, I mean, kitty when I clean anything. Stinky, one of the cats at work, used to do this all the time. I would clean one box and she'd jump in and leave a contribution. Then I'd clean the other box, and she'd jump into that as well. She would strain herself just to squeeze out one drop. Literally, just one drop would be all she'd have left. Harriet, the other cat at work, follows me downstairs when I get it and sits by her favorite box and glares at me until I clean it. It doesn't matter that she doesn't need to go, she just wants that box cleaned out RIGHT AWAY. Both the cats at work & home have all jumped into boxes as I was cleaning them, even with other boxes available. She loves to watch me scoop the boxes. Chase really likes fresh litter, and he will often wait til I get home from work. If I don't scoop it right away, he will come remond me, then observe my work. Sometimes he waits for me to finish, sometimes he doesn't. He gets especially excited when I topp off the box. He loves to dig in really deep litter. He also prefers fine grain. He won't use pellots, and he looks sorely disappointed by anything in between. The other two cats couldn't care less. They'll use anything, anytime. Its a riot when you have 10 kittens who are just a few pounds all watching you dig. Sometimes they even try to help. (foster mom, not a hoarder) I have a new kitten who has to do her business when I'm scooping the box. I tiny ~2 lb kitten. lol She's learning young. Her litter mate goes to each box and makes a deposit (several boxes on both levels of my house). He keeps a very careful eye on the process. Sometimes he'll dive into the box after I'm done and bulldoze the litter around for a bit, and then leave.
