What would possess my 14 year old Himalayan, Sally, to lick the red bricks
on my patio? They are clean and I can't imagine what would attract her to
them. Any ideas?

This can be a sign of anemia. She should have a geriatric blood panel done.

Vet asap. The last cat we were told was licking a patio was dead
in short order. She had some sort of vitamin deficiency or anemia.

My himalayan, Pandora licked concrete when she anemic. She also ate cat
litter. At that point she was end stage chronic renal failure. 8-(

All that I can tell you is that when my previous cat started doing this at
the age of 9, she was diagnosed with two things. Anaemia and
hyperthyroidism.
