Hi everyone! This is truly the happiest day of my life!
My Antonio, a semi-feral foster that I adopted, had gotten out a little over
a month ago. There had been no sign of him until two days ago, when my
neighbors spotted him near our condo's tennis courts. I had to stop setting
the traps last week, as it's gotten below freezing here at night. Luckily,
my order for Fosters and Smith had arrived that day, complete with the
microwaveable warming discs, so I was all set to start setting traps again.
I felt very encouraged that I at least wasn't setting the traps blind now, I
had a general area that he was in. So I set two traps over there, and in
just two nights, I caught him!!
This morning he was in one of the traps. Of course, he was very freaked
out. We went back to the house and he's in the bathroom right now until his
vet appt later today. He's been meowing up a storm, which is odd. I've
never heard him meow except for that little feral meow he would give me when
he wants food. He looks fine, and I feel bad keeping him in the bathroom
for now, but I know if I let him out, I'll never get him in the carrier to
go to the vet.
I'm so happy!! I was starting to think I would never see Antonio again!
Thank you all, especially Megan and Phil for the trapping advice.

I'm so happy for you. I'm off to tell little Cinder the story. She'll
be happy to hear it.

Aww, Kelly, this just warms my heart. I'm so glad you have him back. I
know you've been trying so hard. I hope everything goes well at the
vets and a big HOORAY for you!

The vet visit went well. No fleas, ticks, or injuries. He is a bit
thinner, but overall in good health. Oh, how I wish he could talk and tell
me what he's been doing for the past month!!

Yay! I'm sooo happy for you, Kelly. That's wonderful. I felt so bad for the
poor little guy and for you, too, knowing how I would feel in that situation.
If only he could talk and tell you all about his big adventure. So he's not
thin? I wonder where he ate? I hope he gets reacclimated quickly. It's
great, great news!!!!!!!!

I do wonder if a person was feeding him. He's thinner, but not like "hasn't
eaten in a month" thin. Antonio has also been a bit less skittish, if you
can believe that. He's been meowing at me and rubbing up against me. I am
so incredibly relieved to have him home!!

Kelly,
That is so incredibly wonderful! I think about Antonio off and on, and
how sad that could be. I'm so glad you kept the faith and didn't give up.
What a lucky cat -- twice!
