It should be ok. Swallowing a whisker is the equivelant to swallowing a
solid strand of hair. It should pass right through unless the cat coughs it
up in a hairball.

FYI...i actually stepped on one of my cat's whiskers (he had shed) once. Darn
thing partially embedded itself in my foot. I don't think a strand of hair
would do that.

Is your cat's whisker made of glass or something? The whisker on a cat is
closer to a bristle on a hair brish than something able to stab you in the
foot. Yes, whiskers are more solid than hair but if the whisker passes
through the digestive track then everything should be ok. If not, call a vet
and ask them what should be done.

Thank you for your emails. I too am concerned because the one end of
a whisker is quite sharp and can prick a finger.

The cat will be fine. A whisker will most likely be digested or coughed up
in a hairball.
