Hello,
My cat has gotten black stuff in his nose and a spot of black on the
edge of his eye lid - has any one ever seen this and do you know why
this is happening?.
My husband picked it off his eye and it just returned.
Any help you can offer would be great.
Thank you,
Lyn

I don't know what it is but I would have the cat checked out by a vet.

Is he orange? Is it just a pigmentation color change, like black freckles or
are they raised?

"Yes" he his orange, and when I feel the spot on the rim of his lower
eye lid it feels hard and dry (like a scab) his nose is not bad. Like
black dirt is on the otter opening of the nose holes. Yes, I can
clearly see his lips/gums are black with freckles, but this seems a bit
strange on this eye and nose. He goes in and out as he pleases. No
fleas to speak of so I am confused what this could be.

Then I would definitely have it looked at. Sounds like more than freckles.

Sounds like it might be cancer. I hope not melanoma. Get to vet asap.

Cat tears dry very dark because of the proteins in it. Since Kami has
duct problems she gets reddish black crust build up now and again if I
don't stay on top of it.

Well, would you?

OMG I hope it is not cancer. This summer I had to put my other cat
under, due to cancer in the lower jaw, Blackie was her name. But she
was much older than Chance our male, he is probably around 8-9 years
old. But never the less, IT WAS HARD! I never want to do that again.
I will let you all know what I find out - maybe you can help others with
the info I get. Thank you for your replies once again. I did come here
last time for Blackie, you help and sent kind words when I lost her.
Thank you,
Lyn
