Sorry for taking so long to update, but I've been dealing with
midterms at school and a sick dog at home!

Trinity is the kitten whose eyes didn't open until 3 weeks, and then
had the eye infection.

Trinity is doing very well now.  She finally got her first round of
vaccinations 2 weeks ago, at age 3 months.  Her weight is still about
1.0 pounds, so the vet has not done the FLEV, FIV, etc tests, he wants
to wait for her to be at 2 pounds before drawing blood.

Her eye never 'healed', meaning it is still very small and the 3rd
eyelid has closed over it.  The vet believes that she has herpes
infection in it, but with no other cats around and her being strictly
an indoor cat, he will wait until she is spayed and examine the eye
thoroughly while she is under anesthesia.  However, the eye no longer
drains and seems to have healed as much as it is going to (it doesn't
bother her at all anyway).  She has adjusted completely to only having
sight in one eye and is more active and playful than other kittens I
have seen anyway.

Otherwise the vet said that she is very healthy. Her weight is still
under normal, but it probably will always be because of the health
problems during the first few weeks.  She is a lean cat, but very
active and the vet said that he could tell she was active from her
muscle tone.  I was concerned that she was too thin, but he says that
she is the right wieght for her size. (she is about the size of a 4 or
5 weeks old kitten)

The vet was very surprised to find her so healthy and well adjusted.
She purred the whole time and tried to rub her head against his hands
during the exam. She did cry at the shot, but he gave her the wormer
that is supposed to taste good and she started purring again right
away.

So, it just goes to show you what these little guys can go through and
still be so healthy! If you ever find an orphaned kitten that the vet
doesn't give good chances, give it the benefit of the doubt! Trinity
is the most loving and sweet cat that I have ever seen and I wouldn't
trade her for anything. ;)

Great story, thank you for sharing it. Kudos to you for taking care of her.
You two will always have a great bond because of all you have done for her.
She is already appreciative and loving, it sounds like.

Yee hah!  I am glad she is still beating the odds.  Lucky kitten, to have
found you.

Thanks for putting in the good word for the undercat.  Tipsy (our
cerebellar hypoplasia cat) and Googly (herpes ravaged both eyes from
infancy, which doesn't slow him down a bit) send love and hisses.
