hi
Yesterday my parents took my two 12-14 week old kittens to the vet.
Everything was fine with the female domestic but my purebred hym male kitten
had ditry ears which my parents got cleaner for. Also the vet listened to
his heart and said that he had a slight heart murmur and he may grow out of
it though. I was looking on the net and couldn't really find much
information on murmurs and wondered if anyone knew any really good websites
that are out there that I can read up on. Also I was wondering if any of
you have had cats and kittens with murmurs and what your experience with
them are.
thanks a bunch

One of my cats has a slight heart murmur, and I don't worry about it.
My mother has one, too, and she will be coming down here to watch my
house and my cats next week while I go on a trip. She's 79 and a live
wire.
Don't fret.

He may grow out of it. Since he has Persian blood though, it might not be
the case. Info on heart murmurs and heart disease here:

did they grade the murmur? It may close up if its a low grade murmur,
however if it doesn't they will find out why it has a murmur... there are
lots of sights out there which you can read do a 'google' search

Some murmurs are innocent - especially in kittens - most kittens grow out of
them. However, rather than wait and see what happens, I'd have the kitten
examined thoroughly to rule out a congenital defect.
Good luck.
