I have a young male cat (1 and 1/2 years) who jumps up on our shoulders and
wraps himself around our necks. He will remain like this for  long periods
of time. I also have a Tonkinese who does this (male, also). Do others have
cats who do this?

Yup, my calico does that.

I had a cat growing up that did this. Male domestic that looked like a blue
point apple head siamese.

I used to have a black cat that would do this. He would also
do it while I was eating, and stretch his neck out to try to
get the food off of my fork before it reached my mouth!

If Tiger did this he would knock me over!  At his last vet visit he
weighed 25 pounds. Also, his claws are gigantic.

I don't, but my father had a cat (Maine Coon) who did that.

One of my cats used to until he simply grew too large.  He now just contents
himself balancing on my arm and shoulder.  Our kitten likes to sit on
my head when I'm in my office chair.

I've known several smaller cats who did that, but our two are much
too large.  They're too large for a lap to be comfortable for them,
much less shoulders.  They do like to lie on the back of the couch,
and swish their tails around our heads, though.

My silver tabby does this, and if I put on a ball cap, she'll climb on top of
my head and just sit there.

My cat Meem was a shoulder cruiser, but she would only sit up there for
short periods of time. Rosalie's foster home had a cute little black and
white tuxedo cat named Violet who would leap onto the shoulders of complete
strangers and stay up there forever, until someone removed her. I joked
about taking her with me when I picked Rosalie up, as she (Violet) was
wrapped around my neck anyway, but the foster humans assured me it would
drive me nuts in no time.

No, the closes thing I have is Catfive who wraps both paws around my
ankle and nips to get me to rub his tummy when I am walking past. My
Maine Coon sleeps on the pillow above my head (between me and the
headboard).

we have these windows that slide up to open.  there are two places on
the window where a cat can potentially stand on her hind paws.  well,
Shaina, during her evening and morning marathons, flies up the window
sill, up on the very top of the window, so that she is about 20 inches
away from the ceiling she either stands there for a sec, or stands on
all 4 paws on the top of the sliding window part.  she also does it
when the venetian blinds are closed.  she slides up underneath them
and then stick sout her face between them.  she also opens and closes
the blinds by catching the ropes.

sweatshirts and jumpers
