We have always given PJ, our indoor-only cat, bits of Boston lettuce.
The darker the leaf, the more he likes it.
In the last week or so, though, he's really gone crazy for the stuff. He
still likes his regular food (Purina Indoor Cat formula) but ignores
crunchy Whiskas treats now in favor of green stuff.
Should we be concerned about this strong appetite for greens?

So long as he's getting his nutritional needs from his cat food, I wouldn't
worry about the greens. Makes me wonder though if something in that Purina cat
food is not meeting his needs. Or, he could just like the lettuce. At least
it's better than the Whiskas.

I have known several cats who enjoy a tasty salad. I don't think it's
anything to worry about.

We had a tough ol Tom that liked lettuce when I was a kid. Unfortunately he
also liked the neighbour's chickens.

my Jack loves green beans (and no I don't put butter on them). Sometimes
cats just like a little something different
