Well, so sorry that it has taken me so long to update the situation,
but I was kicked by a horse and spent several weeks recuperating.

Trinity just came back from the vets after finally getting her first
round of vaccines at 3 months. (for those who don't know, she is a
severely underweight kitten weighing about 2.5 lbs now)  The vet has
agreed that she does probably have the herpes infection in her eye,
unfortunately the 3rd eyelid has closed over it obstructing his view.
Since their are no other cats in the house and she stays inside, the
vet feels it is best to wait until she is spayed at 6 months, and have
a good look at the eye while she is under the anesthesia.

We had a problem with anemia that was caused by fleas (I just couldn't
get rid of them and couldn't use advantage because of weight issues),
but that is now under control as I found a flea spray that is very
safe and effective.

Other than that, she is now very healthy, her weight is still low but
coming closer to normal.  She will be a small cat, but the vet is very
confident that she is going to be fine.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice...also I would like to hear from
anyone who has dealt with herpes and might have some advice or little
know info that I might need.

Supplementation with L-lysine (250-500mg/day) may be of some help.
Steve.
