You don't mention if you had an iota of knowlege on cat care. If not, I urge you to search on google how to raise a healthy Siamese kitten/cat...knowing what to expect on the behavior of this breed, etc. Next, a number of cats coming from breeders or pet stores are sick...The buyers aren't aware of the illnesses until it's too late. A kitten needs to eat and drink every day. If the kitten isn't eating or drinking it could be a very big warning that the kitten is sick. Please take the cat to a vet - not a vet associated with the one who sold her to you. This will confirm whether the cat is well or if the cat is sick. Good luck!

Kittens are very vulnerable and need to eat *often*. Take the kitten to a vet *immediately*
Rhonda - 09 Oct 2004 04:20 GMT Those cats are too young to be taken from their mother and probably are not even weaned. They need to go to the vet right away and see if something else is wrong (go to an emergency vet.) They also need some KMR (kitten milk replacement) to feed until they can learn to eat kitten food.
I can't believe anyone would take kittens away that young. I am in shock. Your kitten's in trouble -- please let us know tomorrow what the vet had to say!

CrimeMonster - 09 Oct 2004 13:17 GMT well i think u ppl are right........the vet said the same thing.............the kittens are too small to be seperated from thier mother but the mother cat was already sold before i got these kittens .......
so it would be the same situation if the kittens are wid me or in the pet shop.... vet suggested me sandoz calcium syrup in the kitten`s food on every serving.....
and plus one more thing to mention......i m livin in a location where its really hard to find a good vet...........so i totally now depend on ur replies............so plzz help me i m desperately in need of some good health advice
Rhonda - 09 Oct 2004 17:00 GMT Do you have a pet supply store near you? A Petco or PetSmart or similar? They sell Kitten Milk Replacement. Some grocery stores sell it also. Vet offices should also carry a mile substitute, but sounds like you don't have many vet resources.
Get some of that right away to feed the kittens. I'd also get a kitten bottle. You may have to get creative to get the kittens to drink that KMR. I hope you can get some right away, cow's milk is not the same and may even harm their digestion.
After they start drinking the milk substitute, there is a KMR formula called "2nd step," that is a little thicker and helps get them ready to eat regular food.
If you can't find any KMR, let us know. Maybe someone else here has another idea for a milk substitute.
After you have the kittens stable, please report that pet shop. Call the Humane Society and tell them, they will help you find who to report them to. Also call the pet shop and tell them they almost cost the lives of the kittens. Were there more kittens there that could be in trouble? They are either completely inexperienced or completely heartless.
Good luck with your kitties. Let us know how they're doing.

Oh, no, I'm very sorry about the poor baby, how sad. I'm sorry, I know nothing about raising small kittens but someone else here will help you.

What did the vet say was wrong with the kitten? You don't have to have a cat specialist if your city doesn't have one. Any vet's care is better than nothing. Four week old kittens die for many reasons. Flea anemia and coccidia are two common ones. You need to find out what was ailing the first kitten to protect the second one. KMR will help the kitten, and it really needs it, but it's not going to save it's life. You need a diagnosis on the first one. It's odd that you can't find any KMR. Even Wal Mart carries a replacement formula, although it isn't KMR brand. Vets here always have it. In the meantime, make sure the kitten is eating good, wet kitten food and drinking water.

What is the problem? I hope I'm not biting troll bait. But the OP said he/she took the sick one to the vet and he force-fed it milk. That's why I'm also fuzzy on the "u r my last hope." There was a poster who once sent me an extensive list of helpful hints on raising baby orphans. I'd be glad to dig it up and e-mail the poster if he/she wants me to. Sherry

Oh yeah, absolutely, I think so too. I just can't figure out why, if the first kitten was taken to the vet for force-feeding, there wasn't suggestions for a preventive treatment plan for the "well" kitten offered by the vet. Or even a guess as to what was ailing the sick kitten. I've also never known a vet that didn't stock KMR. Sherry

I thought this poster was in another country...other than the US, I mean. Somewhere where vets aren't that plentiful.

Here's some basic information that should help:
http://maxshouse.com/kitten_care.htm#Newborn%20Kittens
Buy yourself a good basic car care book such as the Cornell Book of Cats.
I'm sorry about your kitten - It really breaks my heart when a little one dies so young.
Luvskats00 - 11 Oct 2004 08:10 GMT I'm so sorry to hear about the kitty. You did what you could to save her. .
CrimeMonster - 11 Oct 2004 17:52 GMT ok here is the update of my male kitten........
i atlast found a vet who is not a feline specialist but had a good experience wid cats.......so he checked the kitten.......and gave him two injections......said that the kitten is havin temperature.....plus some internal infection......also the cat is suffering from dehydration....
so for the infection he gave me an antibiotic ....penbritin(ampicillin) drops 65 mg 3 times a day for five days
and for dehydration.....he suggested me to give from a dropper 125 mg a mixture containing: 1 glass of water 1 tsp glaxose D and half pinch of salt
for the temperature....now i am keeping my on a heating pad (set to low)covered by two towels
one more thing to mention here ....... the vet said its not possible to find any KMR here as i said it before.....he also suggested me to give cat chicken soup twice a day.....
so is there anything you guys wanna add to it ? .......cause i can`t lose this kitten...... i cannot lose any chance to save my kitten

To the OP, I suggest that you make the chicken broth if you can yourself so that it is not too salty. Do you know any farmers? Something like goats milk, which is easily digestable and easier on tummies might work better and you can freeze it and thaw it. I wish I knew more about baby kittens. Hopefully you can see Phil's page. We are so spoiled being able to go out and buy anything that a kitty like that would need. Please hang in there.

No Walmarts. NO, this person is not. The Serbian poster, BytE (maytreex@phreaker.net) posted about a kitten bleeding from the mouth on October 1. This poster is CrimeMonster" <hiit_ace@hotmail.com, who has not indentified where he or she lives.

Well, if this person is in Australia they can get on the Vet Products Direct site: www.vetproductsdirect.com.au which sells practically everything including kitten milk replacer and they are based in QLD (Queensland) which appears to be where the OP may be from (actually I just tried the site but it didn't seem to load, however their toll-free number is 1300 650 607). Or they can try www.healthy-bird.com (based in SA but ship by courier all over Australia, phone number is 0419 849 192) who also sell a range of baby animal milk replacers including kitten milk. I am sure both of these places would send out a bag of Wombaroo kitten milk by courier if necessary (I have found the Wombaroo much better as it is cat-specific, whereas the other product often recommended, Di-Vetelact, is not especially formulated for kittens and can cause the squits). Mind you, a vet in QLD should know all of this! Actually, another site is www.biolac.com.au - they make a really good kitten milk replacer and are based in NSW which is closer to QLD. Their phone number is: (02) 9823-9874. All these places sell feeding kits as well, I think. But any good metropolitan vet should have all this so if the OP is out bush they could ring a city vet and get the gear sent out to them. Or I can do it, if they send me their address! (I am a Siamese cat-addict so I'll do anything for them!)
