Shaina went into heat a few days ago, or so. it passed now. i think
i also became allergic to the hormones that she releases when in heat.
i've never been expposed to a cat in heat for a long time because our
cat at home is an indoor/outdoor cat and she just went out and got
pregnant.
that's not all that important. i am getting her spayed as soon as the
spaying certificate arrives and my allergy subsided. the problem is,
she doesnt' seem to like me anymore. i was her mother cat, her
favortie human. she would follow me around everywhere and sleep next
to me many times. now, when i come home, and go to pet her, she runs
away from me. she gets into the threatening pose and bushes out her
tail. she hides under the couch. she screeches when i pick her up
and tries to get a way and even hissed a few times at me. she also
bites and doesn't stop when i tell her. she's been like that for 2-3
days and only on several occasions did she let me hold her and pet
her. she still play-hynts with me and she chases things when i play
with her, but overall she seems to have started to dislike me and i
never did anything to her!
any ideas about what may be the matter with her?

Maybe her hormones are just out of whack. I bet she's back to her old self
after the spay. Just to be on the safe side, mention the behavior to the vet
when you go. Just to make sure she isn't in some sort of pain, or has some
other medical issue going on.

thanks. she is now sitting on my friend's lap, naping, very peacful.
i am not sure, but perhaps she doesnt' like females now. i'll tell
the vet about her weird behavior.

My wife acts like that for a few days every month.
