Get this cat to a vet. It sounds like an injury.

Well I decided to wait a couple days and feel things out on my own. Maceo
is at 99%. Please don't take this the wrong way.. but sometimes I feel like
I can't trust the info in newsgroups.. I'm willing to bet there are a lot of
vets in here.. so of course they would say 'bring him in' because it would
be in the best intrest of your pockets.. it's not just here.. I had a
similar problem with a dentist board.. of course they're going to tell me
to go in.. but after I went in they treated me like I was an idiot for being
careful. I dunno.. lemme know what you think honestly.

Horseshit. You were willing to take a chance with
your cat's health in order to save a buck, while many
of us are not. Period.

Amen!! I'm not a vet and think that my local vets charge way to much money.
I am a firm believer of bringing sick and injured cats/kittens to a vet.
As a predator<SP?> a cat will do its best to hide any injury or sign of disease.
They understand that any sign of injury or sickness makes them inviting prey.
When a cat/kitten is in such bad shape they can't hide it something is seriously
wrong and needs to be addressed.
I have personally seen this in a cat that I had that I let outside ( I know keep
them indoors). He would get into a fight and end up with an infected bite in a
leg. When he didn't think he was being observed he walked with a limp. When i
noticed that I was watching him he stopped limping and walked normally.

Well, to each his own, but me, I would NOT mess with tail injuries. Too
close to vital functions. BTW I don't think there are ANY vets in here.

Well, one has to balance the ng's info with what one's gut feeling is, &
with one's vet's advice, plus whatever other info you can find on websites,
at the library, wherever. But taken collectively, there are a lot of people
here w/ a lot of different experiences & knowledge about this or that re:
cats.
I'm willing to bet there are a lot of

Then you just lost your bet. AFAIK, there is currently one vet on this ng,
who rarely posts.
so of course they would say 'bring him in' because it would

I think honestly that if I were worried about my cat, that I'd take him/her
to the vet.

If you're referring to rec.pets.cats.health+behavior, unfortunately, there are
not many vets who post in here. None, regularly, anymore, in fact. Very
occasionally, one will drop in but the people who told you to take your cat to
the vet were not vets.

Stop being so stubborn and get the cat to the vet. Would you wait to see a
doctor if you had a broken arm or leg?

What would YOU do if it was your own body part involving bones? Why would a
bunch of vets that likely live thousands of miles from you be in it for the
money? Do you think it's some kind of vet conspiracy?
