Hi -
I just returned from the Vet because my cat has been dry coughing for
the past week (indoor cat, never had health problems before, 8 yrs
old)
After an exam finding labored breathing they took X-Rays and it looks
as if the poor guy's got lung cancer - the area around the lungs were
pretty black on the X Ray. I'm taking him to another Doc tomorrow to
rule out a fungal infection but assuming it's lung cancer, anyone have
any experience with this or advice?
Thanks for the help -- my heart's breaking big time :(

No info, but i really feel for you. Best of luck. I hope it is an infection
which can be treated.

A girlfriend of mine who didn't smoke was diagnosed with lung cancer. They went
in to remove a lung and it turned out it was a fungal infection. She was
ultimately fine. Yes, check for a fungal infection. Do you or a friend smoke a
lot in the house?

Unfortunately I did have a cat with lung cancer and it did not have a
happy ending. Our only regret is that she died alone in the hospital.
If we had to do it over again, we would have brought her home to die
with us. Sorry.
