Glucosamine works for Meep!

Hello.  Just thought I'd post this, in case anyone else was thinking
of supplementing with Glucosamine-Chonidriotion (probably spelled
wrong).  I'm using Drs Fosters and Smith "Joint Care", liver flavor
capsules, one per day, opened and sprinked on Meep's canned food.

I started this supplement for two reasons:  she's had at least one
cystitis attack, and has luxating patellas in both her hind legs.
X-rays showed no arthritis in those joints at this time, but the vet
indicated that it was highly likely she'd eventually get arthritis in
those joints, if the patella kept slipping.

First, for those who followed the earlier post, her leg problems
completely resolved with moderate confinement (did what I could to
keep her off the stairs, and kept her inside).

She's been on the glucosamine supplement for about two months now, as
a preventative more than anything, and I suddenly realized one
evening:  she's more active than she's been in ages!  Jumping and
running and carrying on like a kitten sometimes.  It's wonderful to
see.  I thought her slowing down was simply that she was getting older
(she's 8), but I'm guessing she must have some joint issues somewhere
that the glucosamine supp has been helping with.

She loves it, too, I just top-dress her food with the powder from the
capsule  and she just eats it all up.

The bottle I purchased cost a bit, but there was something like 275
capsules, and at one a day that'll last a while.

I would recommend at least trying it, if your cat has arthritis or
other joint issues that glucosamine might be effective for.

Any day you learn something isn't a total waste.

Wow, this is really great! I've saved this in my "cats" file for
future reference. Thanks.
