That is one great playground! I solved my mower problem by putting
one of those indoor/outdoor carpets like astroturf in mine. It also
keeps it a bit cleaner since rain water runs down the side of the
house and floods the enclosure sometimes. It's also diverting the
moles from digging holes like they've been doing all summer.
And it's also plenty

I would laff but I'm still sad over that tom.

It looks low. Do you think they could jump from that little stump
and get out? Is the table and chair inside the enclosure? I'd
like to go out and sit with the kitties in mine, but since it is
under the deck, the spiders like it too much for my liking. lol
I really like the gate on that thing.

They've never even so much as stood up and put their paws on the fence
to test it. There's something about it that makes animals not even
attempt to climb it. Like a reported originally -- I trapped about 7
gray squirrels to test it before the cats were allowed in (and before
the enclosure was complete -- it was open on 2 sides!) and all but one
of the squirrels was totally lost and never even attempted to get on the
fence -- they just ran back and fourth helplessly along the bottom of
the fence before I shoo'd them out.
One of the cats did try to jump up to one of the open house windows I
was looking out early on, and the best he could do was tag the bottom of
the sill before falling back to the grass, and that's a full 2 feet
below the crest of the fence canopy.
The only problem I have is when a neighborhood cat wanders into the
yard. Then the mother, Daisy flips out and does a misplaced aggression
thing on the other cats in the enclosure and all hell breaks loose and I
have to run out there and break it up.
Yes, the table's in the enclosure. I like to sit out there with them and
have a cup of coffee and read the paper on Sundays with them . They
really like being able to interact with me out there. I even have a
yellow plastic ball I throw and they chase after.

That's a fantastic setup. In fact, it is similar to some fencing that my
brother and sister-in-law installed to "deer-proof" their yard. (It works,
too!) What brand/company did you use?

The company is http://friendlyfence.com/ff/. I believe they ARE the deer
fence people. This is a new usage of the material for them. I hope it
takes off. It's perfect for cats and would save may lives if people
would do this in high-risk areas.

Thanks. I'll add this to my list for friends who have asked about fencing
in their back yards. I'm also going to check with my brother -- but this
may actually be the same company.
