I have a 6 year old female spayed siamese.  Today I happened to look
down the hall she was in the middle of the hall, and she just squatted
and pooped, she wasn't upset about anything, just calmly pooped "a lot"
a walked away.
The poop looked normal, but I have no idea, why she did this.
Any thoughts??

Thanks,  Aimee

Anything going on?  New person coming around?  Change in the household?

No, there's nothing going on, that's what really has me wondering. The
house was quiet, there hasn't been anyone new in the house. No reason
that I can think of for her to do that.  My mouth fell open as I watched
her, I didn't yell at her or anything, just waited till she finished and
cleaned it up.

If she continues to do it, try lining up 2 or 3 litter boxes where the
present one is.  Just in case she's all-of-a-sudden gotten ultra-picky &
wants a choice of boxes.  This will often work.

The litter box's are clean, I have 4 of them, I have more cats.
But thanks for the thoughts. I'm just wondering if there's any other
reason she would do that, she get's along with the other cats. She's a
bit weird, in a way, she's always licking me when she's purring, it's
like she can't help herself. Other than that, and the fact that she's
over weight, she's pretty normal.

I wouldn't worry about it, unless she does it again.  Then I would take her to
the vet to rule out a physical cause.

good luck,
Lauren

No, I'm pretty much a homebody, only short trips to the store and back
home.
Just wondered if this could be health related, I know if a cat pee's in
front of you, it could be a UTI but never heard of a cat pooping in
front of you.

Thanks all for your input.

My cat Gnarly who was never sick a day in her life until her final illness
once pooped front and center (and loudly LOL) to let me know that she felt
her box needed changing. Once in 20 years. She was right.

Sometimes its just a nasty habit that they suddenly acquire, but
sometimes something is wrong, such as a urinary tract infection, etc. So
have it checked out. =^..^=
