Hi, I'm just wondering if there are any alternatives to completely
desexing my kitten called Charla. Mum & Dad have told me that she has
to be desexed no matter what...but are there any other methods?  I've
read arguements for long-term health benefits of spaying, but I'm
still interested in learning about alternatives (hysterectomies, etc
perhaps), and whether vets would possibly consider these. Also, are
there pills to delay any desexing operation until Charla is older than
the recommended 6 months - she's 5 months old now & very small &
immature - it would be good if we could wait until she is a few months
older.
Thanks, Torlesse

Friend of mine years ago had her cat's tubes tied rather than take out
the uterus and ovaries.  The rationale was the operation would be
safer, less stressful.

Well, cat was in heat all the time, very stressful for kitty I think.
Not to mention on the owner.

oh god! that's horrible!  cat's reproductive cycles are completely
different from human female's!
