I have a large, medium-hair cat.  I brush him every night, and I pull off about
3 brushfuls of hair each night.  He is also on hairball remedy Nutromax.
Despite these things, he throws up hair either nightly, or every couple of
nights.  It's as if his system can't pass any amount of hair.  Is this common?
What are some things I can do.  I've heard of PetroMalt, but my last cat hated
it, and I don't want to have to force-feed something like that if I don't have
to.  But I want to do what's best for my guy and eliminate this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Some add a tsp of olive oil to their food to help the hairballs pass through
their system. There are new types of hairball gels that your cat might prefer,
even a seafood flavor. I use the brush and sometimes I use a fine tooth comb to
really get the hair out. I used to dampen my hands and wipe him down also to
get more hair. It's the summer so it's shedding season.
