My crazy cats have been peeing on the air cond/heating vents in our house since
we moved in.It's driving us crazy and we don't know what to do!! Has anyone
else ever experienced anything like this, or is this unique occurence from my
kitties?

That's exactly the place you don't want them to pee. Where are the vents?
Mine are on the ceiling! If they're on the floor put litter pans on top of
them for a while. The air should still get through.

Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.

First, you will need to completely clean any areas that the cats have peed on
with an ezymatic cleaner. Secondly, you should contact a company that
specializes in cleaning air vents. I'm thinking it's possible the previous
owners had pets and your cats are now marking their territory. You could also
try some Feliway plug ins to help with that problem.
Good luck,
Lauren

Also, have them checked for urinary tract infections. Sometimes the stress
involved in moving will cause such an infection.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, I'll try the thorough cleaning in case
other cats left the scent. Not sure how to cover them to discourage and still
let air in...might have to build something. Thanks again for all your input...

Are they in the floor, or low on the wall? Maybe you could put
something like a milk crate over or in front of them.
One of my previous cats expressed his displeasure at my leaving him
with a friend to cat-sit on my honeymoon, by peeing into a burner of
my electric stove. What a horrendous stink when I turned it on when
we got home! And it leaked into the area between the stove top and
the oven, which had some kind of insulation that had to be removed
and replaced.

OMG I have 2 male cats (both neutered) who do the same thing. It
seems like onece a week, I am sticking my hands down the vents with
enzymes cleaning, then I soak my vertical blinds in bleach and I have
finally covered them with the magnetic strips. My vents are in the
floor. Please let me know what you have done and if it works.

The solution is to buy a floor register deflector such as this one:

I've also seen something similar at Home Depot, and it's likely other
home improvement stores will carry these as well.
