And they named the kitten "Nemo".  *heh*

Excerpt:
The boaters on the 17-foot Scout Current Drift did not know how the
kitten arrived in the Homosassa Bay. There were at least 40 boats in the
crowded area where he was found, they said.

On Tuesday, three days after he was found, a veterinarian found the 10-
week-old, 1-pound kitten had worms, but was otherwise healthy.

I bet someone tossed him over.  Just as sick as using it for bait, if
you ask me.  I can just imagine the more thing swimming its heart out
crying.  I'm so glad they went back to see what it was.

Purrfect name, Nemo.

That's so sweet and yet sad.  It just shows how much he wanted to live and I'm
sure all little kitties also want to live but not all have that chance.  He's
actually a lucky one.  I wonder if there were others of his siblings who were
not so fortunate (sorry to put a damper on the happy story but I think it's a
sad, sad world for the majority of animals).

That's what I was thinking. Was this kitten alone or part of a litter
that got dumped? If it was just an unfortunate case of a kitten
falling off a boat, then you would think its owner would have come
forth considering the publicity.

Something like this just makes me cringe to even think he was part of a
dumped litter, I would certainly shed a tear for his litter mates. But
since there was about 40 boats in the area he probably fell off due to
the negligence of his previous guardian. I am just thankful he was found.
