When rubbing my cats belly I felt a largish hard lump. My first though is that he has cancer. Is there anything else this could be, anything not horribly bad? It turns out that what I was feeling was also a fat pocket. The vet says that he appears to be healthy, and not to worry. We went ahead and did a blood panel/urinalysis. It seems to have spread to most of the surrounding area! No matter how much exercise I get or how much weight I lose, it's still there. Only a vet would know for sure. Hi Jane, I found a lump on my last cat's chest which the vet biopsied and it was found to just be a benign cyst. So try not to worry until your kitty has been to the vet, although I know that's easier said than done.
