Mary - 01 Jul 2004 15:23 GMT It happened in Bellaire, Kansas, and is on the CNN site, as a video only at the moment. Somebody needs to send this girl some flowers. At least.
Magic Mood Jeep? - 01 Jul 2004 16:44 GMT I'm not paying money to see one video (I don't go to cnn any more)

Magic Mood Jeep? - 01 Jul 2004 20:09 GMT See - THAT's why I stopped going there. I blame it all on the AOL-Time/Warner (they own CNN and all of the former Ted Turner networks, Cartoon Network included) merger - it made them greedy.
Now if Fox News would get that story, I could view it, Fox offers their video for free as they make their money through merchandising - have a humongous store and a lot of merch specialized to specific programs on their network.

Yeah, I'm pretty disgusted with it, myself. I don't need to see the video badly enough to pay CNN for news that I get for free from my employer. :-)

I use CNN for my homepage. Honestly, I get the videos without paying anything at all. Maybe I just rate. :")

All I had to do was click on the box and select my media player, in my case Windows Media because I hate Quicktime and theothers I have tried. Pay for CNN? Who would?

Restroom Rescue Jennifer Bocchieri
Three kittens are alive, thanks to a Bel Aire family. They rescued the felines from a park restroom. The little kittens almost didn't survive. But three sisters saved them from a foul fate in a latrine at Lake Afton. Jamie and her two sisters heard the kitten's cries from deep down in the tank. When help didn't come Jamie decided to get down and dirty. She jumped into the tank to save the kittens.
She brought out the kittens. Jamie and her sisters named the little cats Afton, Becky Joy and Joe. They certainly didn't come up smelling like roses. But the critters turned out pretty cute. The family can't believe someone would throw then in to the latrine and leave them for dead. They're not sure what they'll do with these kittens now, whether to adopt them out or keep them for themselves. But they say at least they know the kittens will have a good home.

That's really admirable of the one girl to go down in there. Major gross out. I hope they got all of them.

People just really suck. :( There are certainly people who do. =o( what a horrible thing to do to any animal, but especially to cats, who love cleanliness so much! Fortunate for those poor babies that that girl was willing to rescue them. Good on her!

Karen - 01 Jul 2004 16:49 GMT So what was the story?

Mary - 02 Jul 2004 18:12 GMT > >Hopefully the girl was properly disinfected and placed on antibiotics as a precaution > ---the kittens also. What a fine little girl. Yes indeed. I can certainly identify withher when she says in the interview that she could not stand to listen to them cry and let them die in there. I would hope--but honestly cannot say for sure--that I could have done the same thing if I found myself in her position. I hope people are sending her flowers and money and all sorts of rewards. This is behavior that should be reinforced. I suppose her address might be found via the local paper.
