So here I am trying to glue a birdbath together before the wife gets home
(don't ask) and Mr. Bonkers decides to help. Swish, swish and his tail is
covered in unmixed epoxy resin. I removed most of it with a towel and then
used a rag soaked in rubbing alcohol and then washed the tail in kitty
shampoo. It was still a tad sticky so I repeated it. (of course the wife
walks in then and now I really have some explaining). My fear is that I
didnt get it all. What else can I do and is there any fear of him licking
his tail? What non toxic ways are there for removing epoxy resin (cured or
otherwise). (Shoulda named him "Curious George")

De-Solv-It sold in most mrkets. 100% organic, safe on people and pets. I'd wash
with kitty shampoo after using this stuff. It will get off pine sap, road tar,
wax, adhesives, gum out of hair... I use it on wildlife.

Or Goo Gone. Sometimes I have a hard time finding De-solv-it. These
cleaners are both petroleum based so be sure to wash off thoroughly.

Shave the hair, just to be safe. He *will* lick it off. That is what
we did when I groomed at the vet.

Curiousity Glued the Cat. They always have to be at the center of whatever
we're doing. He's a lovely kitty, but then these days, I have a distinct
weakness for tabbies.... Other people have already given much more helpful
advice than anything I could say, but it sounds as if you had the right
basic ideas. So... did your wife ever ask you about the unassembled bird
bath? =o)

You see...there was this lawn tractor....and this bird bath.......and
something about two objects occupying the same space....
Thanks for everyones advice. He's a great kitty. and all clean now. And the
wife is still rolling on the floor with laughter.

She'd be laughing even harder if I had posted my suggestion. It involved
feathers. <EG>
