A young woman contacted the rescue league about adopting an older cat. The
person who took her call told her about Hushpad, so they arranged to have
them meet. The woman was screened by a more senior volunteer and also by
the current foster mom. She fell in love with Hushpad and can't wait to
take her home. I'm going to meet her tonight to do the adoption paperwork.
The other volunteers went over everything about Hushpad, how much attention
she needs, that she has to be an only cat, she only eats canned food, etc.
She lives in an apartment, so she needs to get a letter from her landlord,
which the landlord will have ready for her on Monday. The other volunteers
went through the "what if you have to move?" scenario, and she said she
would make sure she could take Hushpad with her no matter what.
So, keep your fingers crossed that this will be it!

Yay! <fingers crossed> That little cat just sounds so sweet; I hope
this turns out to be the one. :-)

No declawing, right? I hope her landlord isn't one of those that insists on
it.

Way to go, Kelly! Hate to say "I told you so" ... but.... you were beating
yourself up too much. I just knew there was a good home for Hushpad out there
somewhere. Good job.

I certainly hope Hushpad and her perfect human have been united. Being an
only cat seems like the ideal situation for this particular cat. Good luck
to them both!

Thanks for crossing your fingers and toes everyone, it worked! Hushpad's
new mom came in last night, and she is great! Very quiet, knowledgable
about cats, and anti-declaw. She couldn't wait till Monday to take her
home, so she pestered the landlord to get her the letter early, so she will
be taking her home today. :-)
