Shaina is 2.5 months now and in excellent health. she now eats all
cat foods i give her and also cottage cheese. but it's impossible to
leave a cup of any liquid, or a plate of anything that's within her
reach because she will try to drink or eat it. iced-tea is her
favorite illicit drink and i soooo don't want her on caffeine. once
she sees us eating of dinner trays on the bed, she starts acting as if
she were programmed to go towards human food. i once caught her in
time when she almost began to drink out of my bowl where i wash paint
brushes! the water was cadmium yellow! though it was fun to watch
her try to catch my paintbrush when i was finishing the design on the
wall. the thing about Shaina is once she decided she wants to paly
with something, it is very hard to convince her that something else is
fun too and she should go do kitten stuff elsewhere.

Sounds like a real kitten.

the funny thing is that she doesn't eat any of them, except for
iced-tea, if she can catch it before i see her. i take her off the
table and move the glass and she goes back to find it. today she ate
a piece of omelette that was fried on a pan that had bacon on it.
that's the only human food i've seen her actually be interested in.
she was so cute with the egg. it kept falling and she was catching it
with her paws!

She is *such* a normal kitten now. It warms my heart to read how much
better she's doing; when you first started posting about her, she
sounded so sad and weak.
As far as the drinking out of your glasses thing goes, at least until
she gets broken of the habit, you might want to use "adult sippy
cups"- cups with lids and openings/straws. Defeats her fun. :-)
WRT the paintbrush jar, use one that has a lid, and cut/punch out a
portion of the lid that is large enough for your brushes but
hopefully small enough that kitten faces won't fit. :-) (Can you tell
I've been there on that one?)
