My babies like to watch intently, almost like they are "supervising." Then
they usually make a big show of going in it right away like little drama
queens--I can almost see them thinking "she's cleaning the box! What if I
have to go RIGHT NOW?" They're funny that way.

Have you ever made something yourself. Have you spent the time to do it
right and when it was done you thought it was perfect? Well, kittens tend to
think their poops are just like that. They bury them to save them for
posterity.. so when you go digging for them, they are very interested in why
your interested in their creation. They have to watch you dig for them,
watch you find them, then watch you deposit their precious cargo in the bag.
Often they have to poke their little heads in the bag to see if your
actually snagging their creation.
And if your truly lucky.. they'll turn around and make you a new one after
you've collected all the ones they have made already.

Absolutly, my girls will often stand in line to use the box as soon as it
has been changed. Maybe it's similar my bladder's response to the sound of
running water.

Yup, same thing. Espy in particular always seems to have to go as soon
as I clean the box.

Same here. (Had two kittens last year when I lived with my roommate.)
I think it's because they love a clean litter box and want to use it
while it's clean. You're doing your cats a favor by cleaning it and
they're acknowleding you by using it. Sounds strange.

It's appalling that people want pizza delivery and don't respect the
service.

I agree. When I am scooping the box, they both sit there. Stella will go one
further and get in the box as I am scooping it and sh.t. I end up having to
scoop around her while she does her business.

They probably hate to see good sh.t go to waste. My cats do the same thing,
they are naturally curious about everything.
