Willi's surgery during my trip to France was a relative success. Most of the
tumour in his neck was removed. However, since it is a bone cancer they were
not able to remove it all - as it originates at the cervical spine. Thus Willi
still has the cancer - osteosarcoma. He is back home and living in a large dog
crate in my bedroom - as he cannot run or jump for 2-3 weeks. He has a 8 inch
incision but is alert and eating and drinking well. He was excited to see me
Wednesday night upon my return and was fortunate I had some good friends take
care of him during my absence. The next step is determining a treatment plan
with my vet this coming week. The tumour was sent to NC State oncology
department and they will be making a recommendation for treatment - with
radiation and chemo possibilities. My vet feels the "90 days to live" statement
I received from my prior vet was off base based on the info she has though the
prognosis for a cure is not good. The positive was perhaps Willi has more
quality time left than I originally thought.

Thanks for everyone's support,

Magnus

Glad to hear things are looking up for Willi.  I have heard that cats can
tolerate chemo and respond very well to it.

I wish you both the best,
Barb
Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.

Welcome back, Magnus, and thanks for the update.  I hope you had a good
visit with your father.  Also, best wishes that Willi has a lot more quality
time left to be with you.

Well, that is relatively good news. I hope your treatment plan extends your
time with Willi. Keep us posted.

Hi, Magnus.  I certainly hope so.  I'm sure he's glad to be back home with his
dad and it sounds pretty good.  Best of luck and keep us posted, please.
