Bald spot after Frontline treatment

I treated my foster cat yesterday with Frontline because I saw a flea in the
carpet in her room and she was scratching.  I thoroughly cleaned and
vaccuumed the room.  Today, I noticed a nickel-size bald spot on her, near
where I applied the Frontline.  I'm not sure if the spot is exactly where
the Frontline was applied, but it's in the area.  She was also scratching
herself frantically and managed to cause a scratch just under her eye.

The shelter vet will be in tomorrow, so I'll take her in for the vet to look
at her.  I was just curious if anyone's ever had a reaction like this to
Frontline.

I'm not sure on Frontline, but I just got doses of Revolution for my 4
indoor cats in preparation for letting them out for the first time when
their new enclosure (www.friendlyfence.com) is finished. The vet
mentioned that what you describe is a possible side effect.

eq, erm, Laur, oh, I mean eq, yeah, that's the ticket....

I haven't forgotten you. I'll have pictures when it's up. BTW -- they
have a DVD available now showing how the fence is put up, free for the
asking. It features a shelter in PA that's using it to enclose 50 cats,
without an escape so far!

The fence is fully half-open -- right now it's only 2 right angle
sections completed  -- one about 25 feet from the wall of the house, and
the furthest section running about 60 feet into the backyard. It's VERY
promising -- there was a poor gray squirrel in the backyard a few
minutes ago. It was browsing for food, and wandered into to enclosure.
Keep in mind that except for these 2 sections, it's WIDE OPEN out there.
I thought I'd do a little experiment, so I snuck out the back yard and
surprised the squirrel. It ran right at the fence and I expected it to
just run right up it and over, but it hit the canopy top when it
panicked and fell right back down. It never occurred to it after that to
try again. I had the poor thing totally blocked in the enclosure for
about 10 minutes until I finally chased it towards the wide expanse and
it made a beeline for a pile of construction debris (right next to a
tree) and ran under it to hide.

I feel a little mean, but the squirrel's no worse for wear, and I feel a
LOT more confident in this enclosure now. The REAL test will be when
it's finished and I trap a feral......

Im not sure about the reaction.  the fleas once they hit the frontline
become hyper active before they die.. which is probably why she was very
itchy.  Good luck, and it will be interesting to see what the vet says.
