Flea Problem and Indoor Cat

We have a serious flea problem with two outdoor cats and one indoor
cat.  It's a long story but essentially we had mice rustling around
inside our kitchen cabinets where the cats couldn't reach them.  And
for some reason, the mice were eluding our outdoor cats.  We set some
traps and laid out some poison and caught at least one mouse in a trap
but the mice have introduced fleas into the house and it's a serious
infestation.

What do you do with an indoor cat when an exterminator comes to spray?
We had a serious flea problem when we moved in 7 years ago but we
didn't own pets at the time.  Also, if they are spraying the yard,
should I assume the outdoor cats will be okay if I let them out for
the day?

Are there any web sites which detail all the steps to get rid of
fleas?  I'm assuming I have to wash all the linens, make sure the
outside is sprayed.  Do I have to bag up all perishables?  Any advice
will be appreciated.  Thanks.

These really are questions for the exterminator.  It really all depends on
the chemicals they are using.  Discuss your concerns with them, Im sure they
are experienced with pets - and if they aren't, you probably should consider
hiring someone else.
