Hi folks. Have a 17-week old kitten. Just noticed the other day that he's
starting to get a wide nose; like is common on many adult cats. Upon closer
inspection today I realized that it's really some sort of abnormal growth,
because one side is slightly more pronounced than the other.
In comparison I felt the side of my adult cat's nose and I could feel the
bone just beneath the skin, whereas with the kitten there are a slight
fleshy lumps on either side of the nose. The affected areas are not red, and
not pussy, but a little dry and crusty under the velvety fur. The velvet is
all still there on both sides. Th lumps do not cause the ckitten discomfort;
no pain when I press on them with a finger, and the kitten does not scratch
them either.
What is it and how can I treat it. (I'm not the type to rush cats down to
the vet for every minor problem.)

This doesn't really sound minor to me and the earlier you treat it, the less
expensive it will be. There is no way to give advice as this must be seen by
a vet. Remember, sometimes you pay more when you wait.
