I've been reading for a bit now and felt that I should pop in and say hi  :)
I also have a problem I was hoping you all could help with.

While I was away last summer, the men let my yet unfixed female out and the
result was 4 babies.  Sadly, the runt passed away despite all attempts to
feed him by bottle and leaving him alone with Charlie so the bigger babies
wouldn't push him off the teat.  I have decided to keep the 3 remaining
babies (they were just too cute to give away and I fell in love with them
the minutes I saw them!)

I'm curious if anyone knows of a product that gets rid of cat urine smell in
my laundry.  My old male, Bowser (11yrs old, neutered and an indoor/outdoor
cat), has been protesting the addition of my females kittens to the
household by urinating in my clean laundry basket!!  I've tried rewashing
and it still stinks :(

Btw, I have added 2 extra boxes to the household and I scoop them several
times a day.  I do a total clean of the boxes twice a week.

Did you rule out a UTI by going to the vet ?  This has to be done before
behavioral problems can be dealt with?

www.urinegone.com  it is cheaper on eBay
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=urine+gone

nature miracle which is available at any pet store

PS the furball maybe responding to your choice of fabric softener or laundry
soap also

Thanks for the prompt response.  I didn't think to take him to the vet yet
although I will book an appointment for him.  I just assumed it was a
behavior thing since it started once the babies started roaming the house.

I think I may be able to get the Urine Gone at our local "As Seen on TV"
store...will check tomorrow when I go out.  Will also check for the Nature
Miracle.

Pretty sure it's not the laundry products as I'm very sensitive to them and
found a combination that doesn't give me the rash and itchies and haven't
changed it in 7 years  :)

A never-fail product to use (any brand will do) is a biological deodorizer
sold as a concentrate. This will always remove any offensive odors - animal,
human or whatever. This product is used in hospitals, nursing homes etc. You
can buy this in various places, I get it from a store that sells & services
central vacuums (& supplies), but a janitorial supply store will also carry
it. It's usually sold in larger bottles (1 liter, 2 liter or even 5 gallon) &
because it's concentrated, will last almost forever. I keep a spray bottle
filled with the deodorizer diluted down - the instructions for diluting
should be on the bottle, but you can wing it & just fill the bottle with
water & then pour in a small amount (1/4 cup or less) - enough so it colors
the water & it should not smell overly strong. For carpet, floor or
upholstery areas - use the spray bottle. For the clothes, load them into your
washing machine, let it fill with water, add your usual amount of detergent &
then add in about 1/2 cup of the deodorizer concentrate. I never measure, but
you might as well follow the directions on the bottle.

I've been using this for more than 30 years to take away any urine smell &
it's always worked. When my boys were young teens, one of them used to tease
& chase one of the cats a lot & Ginger, the cat always got his revenge by
regularly peeing on this particular kid's clothes & bedding - no one else's.
We weren't very sympathetic!

Good luck!  M.

Nature's Miracle works well but you need to use a lot of it.  I buy it at
pet shops and health food stores.  I think you can get it at PetsMart.  Get
a gallon bottle.  I used it when I had a dying cat years ago and he peed
outside the box.
