Wysong pet food

Last night I placed an order for some Wysong canned pet food. It seems like
it's premium quality food and low in phosphorus (which is important because
of Alex's CRF and Bullwinkle is now borderline). I do find it curious that
apparently many of the varieties are interchangeable for dogs and cats.
Since the nutritional needs of a dog are very different from those of a cat
(the food does contain taurine), I find this puzzling. Does anyone have
experience with this food or know anything about it?
Thanks.
Best regards,
---Cindy S.

What kind did you get?  I buy the Wysong Au Jus which is just meat and I have to
add supplemental powder to it.

I bought the Gourmet Liver because of all the Wysong varieties, it had the
lowest phosphorus content. (Three of my five cats are seniors. One of them
has full-blown CRF and the other two are borderline). I'm not actively
limiting the protein intake for the CRF cat, but I'm not trying to go
overboard either. According to the description on the Wysong Gourmet Liver,
it's supposed to be the supplement (provide extra vitamins) for cats who are
mostly on dry cat food maintenance diets. My cats get both canned and dry
food. To try to judge which is the "mainstay" of the diet would depend on
which cat we're talking about. Some of them eat the canned almost
exclusively and eat only a little bit of dry. Others have to be coaxed to
eat the canned and prefer the dry.

I fed my CRF cat (now RB) Wysong canned food.  He liked it.  But it was
difficult to find so I stopped (that was before I found websites like
petfooddirect.com to order foods from).
