I just took in a stray cat .  She was obviously a little up tight fro
living on the street. She is extremley scared of humans, and confine
herself in the bedroom.  I understood this and figured it woould tak
some time for her to warm up. I also have a kitten who i thought woul
help the new cat make the transition to house life. Now i knew tha
because of the paranoia of the stray that she might not come into th
living room to find the litter box. I was right ,she climbed up on m
bed and went.  So I removed the sheets and cleaned then I had
revalation.   i brought  the litter box into the room where she fel
safe.  a couple of days went by and i checked the bedroom, nothing o
the bed or floor. So I remade the bed with new sheets.  As soon as
did, she peed on the bed.     Can anyone suggest what this behavio
might mea

It means that she's a cat and you let her get on your bed. What do you
think, that cats have manners? They're animals, dude.
She probably smells a spot where you've either screwed before or where
you're 'thingie' leaks out while you sleep at nite. She's an animal,
so she does what comes naturally. She'd eat you if you were small
enough. You do realize that, don't you...?
Hope this helps... I can't be any more up-front than that.

Not necessarily. We used to do foster care for rescued cats, hundreds
of them. Only once or twice did anyone pee on the bed and it was
always one particular cat who, for whatever reason, seemed to be
making a statement. Never figured out what the statement was, so
started keeping the bedroom door closed.

How dare you prohibit that animal's movement. And how dare you say
'no'. She should be allowed free reign over all she surveys. Who are
YOU that you might make RULES for anyone else to follow? If it feels
good, then I say do it. Let her pee-pee freely if she so desires.
That's the way evolution designed her. Not that she would have to
observe some kind of bullshit 'rules' just for needing to do what
comes naturally. Get it together, azzhole... NOW.

The scent is more in likely in the mattress  you are going to have to get a
urine removal product or get rid of the mattress and invest into plastic
sheets

Also   your took in a feral cat Please tell me you had the kitten shots
before this?

Also  from what I read you have not properly introduced the cat to the
household and the other cat.  The problems that you have right now are
probably going to get worse.  You need to keep the separate for awhile

The behavior is stress and fear.  It is going to take quite awhile for the
feral cat to calm down  if it ever calms down.

1. Try putting this kitty in a smaller room, like a bathroom, to help
her feel safe. She's terrified right now and needs lots of alone time
to settle into your house. Give her a box or bed she can hide away in.
Do NOT let her see your kitten right now. She is not ready yet.

2. Take her to the vet for a full check up, if you haven't already.
She may have a urinary tract infection or other problems.

3. Thoroughly clean your bed, mattress pad cover, and probably the
mattress with an enyzmatic cleaner such as Nature's Miracle.  You need
to make sure all the odors are removed.

4. Visit your new kitty often and talk to her softly. Do not force her
to do anything she doesn't want to do; let her come to you. This may
take some time. You don't know what she's been through.

Good luck and thanks for taking this kitty in. Your TLC and patience
will pay off in time.

It would think it might be the laundry detergent smell or fabric softener

I have a cat that smells as certain chemical and it drives them nuts

If this cat uses the litterbox most of the time, then I'd suggest you get
her to the vet and have her checked out for a possible UTI. This can become
a very serious issue if you don't get them checked out.
