Out of desperation I bought some Arm & Hammer Pet Fresh today. This
product is awful! It has a sickeningly sweet smell which is now
permeating everything in my home. I have all the windows open to air
the place out. Beware if you have allergies, I feel like I'm going to
have an asthma attack.
Can someone recommend a product they've used for pet stains on carpets
that isn't so offensive?

Nature's Miracle (pet store)
Oxiclean (original powder formula, can find just about anywhere)
LAs Totally Awesome cleaner (slight smell, but not strong, find this
at Dollar Tree)

I pour a little water on stain, suck it up with a small hand held rug
shampooer or you can just blot it with a paper towel. Repeat this until you
get as much of the stain out as possible. Next, I spray on some Resolve and
set the vacuum on "scrub". If stain isn't totally gone I also scrub with a
white paper towel. When I can't see the stain anymore I spray some Nature's
Miracle on it. My off white carpets are stain-free!
When the rug shampooers come I have them finish with a stain resister.

For urine, try either Nature's Miracle or Simple Solution. Both of these are
liquid enzymatic cleaners that you spray or pour on the stain, which
neutralize it. Both seem to work very well.
For vomit stains, Oxy-Clean is a great choice. This is a powder that you mix
with a little hot water. Pour it on. Walk away. Come back. Stain gone.
