Anyone tried it?    What do you think?   I'm sick of using plastic grocery
bags to scoop into which stink even when closed up!

I have a lot of those square plastic buckets that litter came in. I use
them to hold bagged, used litter until I can get it to the trash. They seal
again quite tightly and they are free.

I once got a 5 gallon empty container of pickles from White Castle.
Works great. I just put a bag into it and keep it covered. Same idea
as BarB. Anything that can hold a bag and seal tightly is great.

It no longer smells of pickles either!

I don't use it, but my sister does.  She has some litter boxes in the
basement and likes to scoop them when she's already down there, but it isn't
always convenient to go back upstairs immediately.  She really likes this
arrangement.  She says it works easily, contains the odor, and then she
transports the stuff later on.  For myself, I just use plastic grocery bags
and then take it immediately out to the garbage.  They don't really contain
all odor, though (as you said), and my sister says that the Litter Locker
bags (actually, a long roll of plastic) eliminates all odor.

I use coffee cans, either the metal ones or the new plastic ones. They would
great. Plastic one is better because urine won't rust out the bottom like with
the metal ones.

A friend of mine has one.  She likes it pretty well.  The only problem she
has is that sometimes big clumps can make it hard to turn the mechanism.

Thanks, all!   I kind of like the pickle jar or coffee can idea--cheaper and
will definitely contain the odor!
