We heard about it yesterday & I said the same thing. It is frustrating
not to be able to help personally..
However, as you say, every dollar counts, so we sent some yesterday.
Each one adds to another and between us we should make a bit of a
difference

Sheelagh, you are an insiration. I know that you don't have any
disposeable income, and so for you to do that is absolutely beautiful.

No I'm not really...
I just saw the story and it touched my heart. I would like to think
that if something as dreadful as this happened in the UK, that Cat
owners United, would try to help this side of the pond too...
It was the dreadful thought of so many of the animals, whom others had
already tried to do their utmost best to help, then had to watch their
poor animals & try to liberate them, only to have no shelter @ the end
of it the worry of having to start from scratch all over again....It
must have been gutting wrenching & horrifying for them too;o(
One thing that didn't occur to me to ask is, would they have been
covered by building insurance @ all? At least that would be a start
towards rebuilding.
I am fairly certain that all of the shelters over here Have to be,
before they will give you a licence to allow the general public in to
see the animals.
I know that won't do anything to help the Kitty's & puppy's that were
affected, but it will help to assure that future generations of cats
and dogs have somewhere that they can go to..( I am assuming that this
is a no kill shelter we are talking about here??)
It doesn't really matter how much you give, because if everyone gave a
few £'s or $'s, then it all adds up to make enough to help them out
there...
If everyone here could afford about $10 or % Quid, then they would
have the resources to help out all of the affected animals that made
it through that fire...
