Is it unusual that a veterinarian would send an animal to another
clinic for a surgery rather than doing it himself?

I recently discovered that the veterinarian I used to go to did not
perform some surgeries. Instead, veterinarians at another clinic would
do the surgeries. I don't know how that worked exactly, I don't know
if they came to his clinic or he sent the animal to their clinic. The
clinic that he used is in another city and about 20 minutes away.

I don't know what surgeries he does perform and what he doesn't. He
may also have the clinic do other things too, I'm not really sure.

When I used to go there, I didn't know he did that. He never told me
that he did it. I only found out recently through someone else who
used to go there. It just seems strange that a veterinarian would do
that. It also seems a bit unethical that they'd do it and not inform
the pet owner.
