I don't see anything wrong with the questions. A research psychologist can't
tell participants what he's looking for. That could skew people's answers.
The hypothesis may be that pet owners feel more secure in their
interpersonal relationships compared to people who don't own pets or have
never owned a pet. Or the hypothesis could be that pet owners distance
themselves from other people.

There wasn't any questions about how you feel about your pets, merely
how many do you have/cat or dog etc at the very end of the survey.
