For a kitten that was obtained privately and has NOT  had all the shots,
checkups and altering, what can one expect to pay to have that done.?  If I
adopt through a shelter I pay them $70-100 and the kitten as everything done
or payed for already.  So I was wondering about the cost for this
alternative when adopted privately.

Also, do the humane societies offer these initial shots and nuetering etc ?
If so is it much less then the local vet?

Any insight appreciated
Thank you

In short: variable.  Keep in mind too that shelters tend to be publicly
funded - either through taxpayer money or through public donations.

I use Orange Vet Hospital, and the 4/1 shots are about $15 per hit, and
office visits are about $30.  They offer a clinic, too, where you can get
the shots at cost.  So about $60.

Also, spay/neuter will tend to vary as well.  We know of one facility down
farther from our vet that will do $40 for males, and $80 for females.

Your mileage, as always, may vary.
