I'll summarize to try to make this one concise post.
My cat Ana, 2.5 yrs old spayed female.  Had an episode of vomiting and not
eating last month, blood test was ran and showed a slightly elevated WBC.  I
kept her isolated for a few days and she got better, almost like magic.  Two
weeks ago, it started again.  Went back to the vet, initially the vet
thought constipation, that has now been ruled out.  WBC was again elevated,
but then went down slightly after a couple days of Clavamox.  Ana spent
three days at the vet's, and was released on Friday as she was eating on her
own and appeared better.  When I brought her back home, I again put her in
isolation (the master bathroom), she seemed fine at first, but then vomited
Friday evening.  Vomiting continued all weeked, 1-2 times a day.  I ended up
force feeding her some chicken baby food.  She did urinate and pass stool.

I took Ana back to the vet today.  The vet is going to try another round of
hospitalization and start Prednisone, and if it happens again, refer us to a
specialist.  The vet is thinking IBD or intestinal lymphoma.  This is a
small vet office, so they are limited as to what they can do.  The vomit Ana
is producing is liquid, smells awful, I think it's mostly stomach acid.  I
did go through IBD (probable lymphoma, biopsy could not be done) with a
previous cat.  She however had bad diarrhea, not the vomiting so much.

I just want to know what's wrong with poor Ana!  The vet was wondering if
she gets stressed out coming home, since she did so well when she stayed at
the hospital.  I don't think so, but who knows?   I mean, she was isolated,
and I did go in and spend as much time as I could with her.  On paper my
house sounds like it might be stressful (other cats and two toddlers) but
this has never seemed to bother her, and there are plenty of places for the
cats to hang where the children don't go.
