Speaking as a biologist/chemist, you mean? Interesting.

Awww! History of Pookey Part I! I love hearing how people got
their cats.

Mom had Pookey for 15 years. He had CRF and heart failure, and died
while Mom was trying to put him in the carrier to go to the vet. She
did CPR to no avail. He was my first black cat - and will always have
a special place in my heart.
We also kept his brother, George - a Big Orange guy with white tux
markings. When they were 7, George wandered too far and got hit up on
the highway. The neigbor came and told me - I was home alone. I was
like 15 at the time, and went up to get his body. I will never forget
taking him off the road. I buried him in our back yard, and Pookey
kept jumping in the hole, not wanting to let George go. We both sat by
the grave and cried for a couple hours. It was one of the saddest
things I ever did - and I did it alone. I'm not sure why. I guess I
just felt he was my cat and it was my resposibility to do it.
