The human food thread was cracking me up for some reason. What else do your
cats do that make you laugh each and every time. There are some things that
Luna does that just about kill me...without fail.

-when her mouth hangs open cuz she smells something

-when we play with a dangly toy and she jumps up on the bed

-her paw coming under the door when we play the "sock game"

-the sound of her crunching her food OR drinking water. ::::thip thip thip
thip:::

-playing hide and seek with her and seeing her peer around a corner.

what about you'se guys?

When Arty thinks it's time for me to feed him, he jumps up on the
garbage can (it's next to the cats' food and water) and strikes the
"vulture" pose.  He sits there glaring until either I feed him or he
concludes that it's hopeless.

Sammie forgetting to reel her tounge all the way in after a yawn. That half
tounge hanging out looks clownish as can be.

Cassie cat deciding I've made her wait too long for chow - follows along
just behind my feet, reaches out with a paw and swats me across the achilles
tendon a few times on the way to feeding.

When I love on Buddha (when she is not in the mood) and she freezes
and rolls her eyes, obviously thinking, "hmmm, I'm pretty comfortable,
if I just wait this out maybe she'll leave."

When I stop petting Buddha when she IS in the mood and she slaps at my
retreating hand.

When she walks by the rack of coffee mugs and throws out a wild slap
at her reflection in passing and just lumbers on.

When she lays on my leg as I sit on the couch and I have to get up and
she hollers and hisses and stomps off just because she was warm and
comfy.

When I play in bed with Cheeks with the tape measure creature Cheeks
sails off the bed in full pursuit, having overshot the mark.

Buddha's evening sprawl, in which this very fat tuxedo displays her
white bikini to all, andtilts her head like she's pondering and washes
her little white feet. It looks like her bikini bottoms are falling
down due to her belly. (She's on a diet!)

Cheeks responding to my husband's petting with the elevator butt
thing. She does not do this when I pet her, and when he does she lips
her nearby catnip toys madly, purrs, trills, and "bing" goes the butt.
I can see her thinking "ooo, you smell like a BOY."

That every time I or anyone else go into our kitchen, both of the cats are
there ahead of me somehow, seemingly "knowing" that mommy or daddy is
going to give them a chunk of raw beef.

Guests.  They're not for breakfast anymore.  *POUNCE*

Potato chips and popcorn - they're not *just* for breakfast.

At 5:15 AM every morning without fail, Lina wants to play with my own paw.
Of course, she takes the time to courteously awaken me before she starts
playing with it by... well, playing with it.

Zelgadis can't *stand* being picked up, but knows a good cuddle with mom
or dad when she sees it and will take advantage of that one spot next to
us as soon as somebody lays down in bed.

Mine would be:

- laying in a spot I just vacated/warmed up.
- "I meant to do that"
- chasing ghosts
- Tip of the tongue sticking out
- Playing "sheet bubbles"

I made her a stuffed sock toy that usually dogs go for.
It's as big as she is.  She'll sneak up and pounce on it, then put a
bear hug on it and dig all teeth and claws into it.

I've also trained her to stop biting my toes.  When she would bite,
I'd say "UH OH," and she'd change the bite to a lick.

Now when she pounces on my foot and opens her mouth to bite, she
remembers and immediately starts licking my toes.

I think my cat is half dog as he loves playing fetch. He'll bring up one of
his toys place it near your hand and wait intently till you throw it. He
will play sometime for like a half hour. The funny part is when my wife and
I are watching television and not in the mood to throw it. He'll come up
with a toy waiting to play, he'll sit for a few minutes and realise nothing
is happening. So he'll  go. He then goes and gets another toy and the same
thing happens. Nothing happens so he does it again. First time he did this
we were sitting watching tv not paying attention to him. But there was a
commercial and we then noticed that there he is sitting patiently looking at
us with three toys in a pile just waiting for us to throw anyone of them. It
was cute. So i threw all three at once he did not know which to go after
first.

my cat (Zoe) has a habit of rolling in catnip and then charging around
going " mroi-mwo-mrow", which I have determined to be 'cat' for "oh wow,

also, she jumps for food(especially turkey).

This is why we have cats :->.

My additions:

Pepper running at 180 mph from the family room, to the front room, through the
dining room, through the kitchen and back to the family. This repeats about 3-4
times where each time he runs over a different piece of furniture. It ends with
him plopping down on the island, panting away.

Chloe picking out her toy d'jour (d'nuit?) from the bowl of toys in the family
room. Bringing up to our bed in hopes we'll play with her.

Chloe "sacrificing" a toy to the food god. Every day we find a toy either in her
food dish or beside it.

Pepper nudging me at 3:30 in the morning so he can curl up beside me and sleep
in my arms.

Chloe trilling and rolling every time you talk to her. Her standing up, nudging
me and trilling when I'm busy on the computer (hey, pay attention to me).

Pepper playing chase the ball in the jacuzzi tub every morning.

Chloe playing fetch with her fake mouse.

Seeing my wife knitting with Pepper asleep in her lap and Chloe asleep behind
her on the back of the couch.

Both talking to the various animals in our back yard.

Both following us constantly where ever we go in the house. Who needs dogs :->

Pepper pushing open the shower door every morning. Drinking from the fountain
(bidet) every time we are in the bathroom.

Your cats sound wonderful! I love the food god toy sacrifice, that
is a new one. Cheeks slaughters a rubber garter snake several
times a day with the most soulful sound effects, and presents it
to me wherever I may be. If I am out she deposits it in my
office at the base of my chair, where I generally live. I guess
she has figured out that *I* am the food goddess! :)

This one doesnt make me crack up, its more of a warm fuzzy...

I love when I come home from work and Luna is sprawled out on my bed. I just
know she's been there for hours and she gets up to stretch when I enter the
room and then sits back down to let me pet her. For some reason, I love knowing
she is all comfy on my bed. :)

a crack up...when her tail poofs out after she gets startled (and since she is
such a skittish littler creature, it happens kinda frequently)

Mmm, sweet sleepy cat smell! Cheeky flattens her ears and yawns when
she stretches and lies on her side so I can pet her little spotted
belly. :) And purrs.

Nuts in the way that you are on to one of life's great
joys that so many others will never be able to tap into.

I know a man who can have anything money
can buy. But he does not and will never know
the joy of the stretch of the sleepy kitty
who has been sleeping in safety and peace on
your bed and looks at you the way they do.

He can't have it because he doesn't
get it. And money doesn't help. He doesn't
know the deep satisfaction of having someone
he loves tell him the truth, either. (Because he
rewards those who lie to him--but only with money,
because it is all he has to give.)

I would feel sorrier for him but he
stopped writing me checks some time ago.

It was the only thing he did well after feigning
friendship, and, having been found out, breaking
my naive heart.

On the good side, he still has his money
and I still have my cats. I guess that's best for
each of us.

I never get tired of watching two cats chasing and pouncing on each other
and wrestling.  It's always especially funny when one surprises the other
from behind and the one surprised goes straight up into the air, often a
foot or more.  It looks just like a cartoon.

For months now my youngest (7 months) has been coming to get me up every
morning.  Though I usually get up at the same time every day, he starts
working on me a half hour earlier.  So I get in a half hour of quality
petting and playing time with him every morning.  He probably thinks I
wouldn't get up without his efforts, and doesn't suspect how ruthlessly
I'm taking advantage of the situation.

Burdell! What a fine name! Polly is a gorgeous

don't look the least bit spoiled, either. ;)

No, but I hope to one day. I don't have a digital
camera and my schedule has kept me from taking
many photos of my babies. But I have a funny, fat,
dieting tuxedo named Buddha (8) and a dear, hilarious,
polite little 7-pound gray mackerel tabby named

I use a flatbed scanner, but of course I have to pay for film and
get it developed.  I bought a cheap ($25) digital camera, but the
picture quality was horrible.  I don't know how much you have to
pay for a decent quality one.

I was just over at my neighbors apartment last night.  He has a mottled
Siamese named sam who he seems to totally adore and vice versa.  That
cat likes to be treated like a dog.  He really pounds on her sides and
roughs her up and you could probably hear her purring down the block.
She'd go away and then come back for another "beating."  He said he's
had her for 11 years and she was a couple fo years old before that.
Had been adopted out NINE TIMES before he got her and he can't figure
out why she was always returned.  She seems very needy, but who finds
that so annoying, really?  :)  Besides, he's gone Tuesday through
Firday every week and she's babysat at a friend's house.  She probably
just misses him.

Cody always looks so cute when he sleeps. He often rolls over on his
back and covers his eyes with one paw if it's too bright.

Midnight climbs on top of me in bed and starts kneading with his paws
and purring very loudly. Midnight also makes a cute little sound
whenever he sees me or when I call him.

Both of them climb up on me when I'm sitting and working and start
demanding attention. If I ignore them, they give a little bite.

The other night we were watching the Supranos and after spending a
while in my lap Kona decided he wanted to get on the ottoman. He lays
there for a while on his side looking like a big ole hedgehog with his
head kind of curled so his chin was facing up; one eye that was up
against the ottoman and was shut; the eye facing up was open.  We
assumed he was just kind of resting.  We're all focused on the intense
dialog when all of the sudden from the middle of the room we hear
ZZZZZZZZZZZ [pause]ZZZZZZZZZ [pause] ZZZZZZZZZ  coming from the
ottoman.  Kona's laying there with the eye that's facing up still open
just snoring away. I cracked up.
