My cat (blitzen) has just seen to vets for his anorexia and lethargy.
I'll keep it short:

The first Vet was unprofssesioanl (took my cat overnight never returned
calls, etcc.. ) and diagnosed him as FIP based on anorexia, one tither
test which was positive (ELISA Tither showed a negative) and the
DNA_PCR FIP Test's positive result.

Besides that his blood/urine test was perfect, no kidny/liver problems
showing, just high protein and the kind of whit blood cells that FIP
creates.
He said nothing we can do, take him to cardio specialist incase its
heart problems. Told us to just force feed him K/D and Nutri-Cal.

I took him to second vet which specialized in Cats.  He only read the
results and agreed its likely FIP but go ahead to cardio specialist.
He prescripbed Prednisone (spelling may be wrong) at 5mg 2x a day (10mg
a day). Also, confirmed he has no pain after checking him for 20
minutes all over.  Then, I found out we were underfeeding him (its hard
even when he was healthy he NEVER liked food before , hates wet food,
people food and only ate Eukanuba chicken dry food to make his meowmie
happy).  So now we started giving him Pred and 100-120 cc of food a day
for the past week and now he seems to be getting stronger.

But, I'm worried, that dosage seems so high, all things I've read said
2-4 mg Pred a day for FIP. But Blitzen is on 10 mg a day !!! I'm
especially concerned because my late mother who had a successful
transplant was on a initial high dosage of Pred and her side effects
were awful (tired, grumpy, lethargy, easily angered, she said she felt
depressed), which went away when it was lowered.  Plus, it seems like a
high dose of steriods is not good, tehn again if he has FIP its not
good anyhow :( *Prays it s a misdiagnosis)>

In short, anyone else have a FIP cat (dry type) which was on and/or is
on 10mg of Pred a day? If not, what doage was given? Can anyone give me
any insights?

Thanks.

Scroll down the page and you'll see a link for treatment of FIP where they
discuss dosages.
