So, last night my KitKat got a visitor in his window. One of the
neighborhood cats! I woke up to this low rumbling meow and when I
walked around the corner into his room he was peering into the eyes of
another cat on the other side of the screen. He was stiff stiff and
when the other cat saw me, he ran away. This afternoon, he came back
and my cat was meowing up a storm. I went into his room to see what
was up and he was standing up with his back all arched and the cat on
the other side of the window was just sitting there looking at him.
Once the other cat saw me, he ran away. So what do I do? I want to
keep the window open so he can get fresh air, but I am afraid that
KitKat might tear through the screen after this guy. What can I do to
keep this other cat from sitting on the window ledge on the other side?
Thanks
Danielle

put things (big flower pots, roll of chicken wire, etc.) on the sill outside
so he doesn't have a place to sit close to the window.

You're lucky KitKat didn't attack you!

Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.

Topper used to get visitors on a regular basis. They would sit outside the
window and just visit for 15 minutes or so every few days. When he died
(over 10 years ago) his two main visitors (I called one big orange and the
other big gray) came a number of times and sat looking for Topper and
waiting for him to appear. You can imagine how it broke my heart all over
again. Zak chases visitors away; he does NOT make friends with outside
cats.
