Hi,

The love of our lives, Drucilla a female Bombay mix, had kittens about 10
weeks ago. Yesterday the kittens went off to their new homes and Dru of
course is confused. She continually searches for them and caterwauls trying
to call them. She is still eating, drinking and using the litterbox
regularly and still plays with toys. Is there anything anyone can recommend
to help her through this tough time?

On another note. We have 5 other cats that are secluded from her since she
would go after them not long after the birth apparently feeling they may be
a threat to the kittens.

Now I need to start working towards integrating them again. Any suggestions?

In the mix is her brother and 4 of her first kittens, 2 boys and 2 girls. I
tried showing her one of the girls and all she did as sniff but the little
girls started to shake and get very nervous.

It was suggested that besides trying to clean the house of the scent of the
new litter I give Dru a bath. I will try anything at this point.

Feel free to reply by email. Remove the NOSPAM to reply.

Thanks,

~Joe

Perhaps when you take her to the vet to spay her he will have
some suggestions.

Maybe her hormones are out of whack, or she is about to go into heat again, and
that's the reason for the caterwauling. It sounds like she's had enough babies
already. Maybe she'd appreciate being spayed.

If you could have kept even one of her kittens for her it might have helped.

Of course I don't look busy,
I did it right the first time.
