Hi!  This evening I was giving my kitty, Sniper, some love and cuddles
and discovered a growth on her back.  It is about the size of the tip of
my pinky finger and it appears "lumpy", and it is skin colored.  It is
not attached to the bone and it doesn't appear to bother him, even when
I poke at it.  I plan on calling the vet first thing tommorrow, but in
the meantime, does anyone know what this is?  I am praying it is not
serious like cancer or something.  Thank you so much for reading this.

If there is no pain involved when you touch or squeeze it, then it is probably just a
benign cyst. But, as you said, get it checked by your vet to be on the safe side.

Keep us posted!

That is something you can only tell
for sure by having vet check it.
Take the cat in.
It may be something totally benign.
Some cancers do exhibit themselves
via surface tumors. The vet will know
if it needs to be biopsied.
