He is my first cat. He has acute renal failure. I left him at the vet
with $1000, first they're going to do a blood test to see if it's worth
trying to save him. He's 6 years old. The day before yesterday, before
he crashed or even appeared sick, I decided that I loved him the most
of all the cats I'd known. I guess at that point his work was done and
it was time for him to go.

I think it will be quiet around here now. So long.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run
and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just
as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each
miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body
quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green
grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy
kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and
you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from
your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Keep the faith, acute renal failure is often reversible.
Best of luck,
Phil
best wishes and good thoughts to Flinx and yourself. He sounds like a great
cat.

He died in my arms this morning as I spoke to him and told him I loved
him. Thanks to Dr. Koontz at NW Veterinary Specialists, who was also
trying to save other cats and dogs last night.

I'm very sorry, John. I know how much you help so many cats. Flinx
was too young to go and it is very sad. I had a cat who was 8 die from
acute renal failure in 2001. It is very shocking when they go so fast.
My condolences to you.

Hardest mate. Hope you get past this stage without too much pain. Another
feline companion will come knocking/meowing at your door soon enough.
Have you noticed when there is a 'vacancy a cat will come calling, pussy's
must have a vacant human hot line.
Mine went, all 3 on the same day, a 'house fire'
I was very ill also, with grief / guilt/ a nervous breakdown. The house got
fixed, I said no more cats, to much pain... Then one night 4 months later, I
got home and a dirty looking stray was sat on my step. I said hello you
don't live here. I opened my door. He ran in, sat on a chair, sent me for
his dinner, and has been here 2 happy years now.
I put adds in local shops but I 'and the vet' think this little fellow was
from the feral colony in the old brick works nearby. He apparently has the
feral wispy tipped ears.
2 months later a large torte female arrived, she lived and ate in the bin
storage shed outside, until one day she also came in house. If you have a
'cat vacancy' be sure tiny purrs will spread the news.
All the best.
